DESCRIPTION
Zhengbin Fishing Port, formerly known as Keelung Fishing Port, is located in the south of Heping Island, Zhengbinli, Zhongzheng District, Keelung City. It belongs to the first-class fishing port; it can berth more than 1,000 tons of ocean-going fishing boats. The port is an offshore trawl fishery base and was once a prosperous fisherman port. The port has excellent topographical conditions and was once the main export port of Jinguashi gold mine during the Japanese occupation. In recent years, the government has actively built deep-water piers and reclaimed new land with the goal of recreating the prosperity of the fishing industry and actively developing it into a holiday leisure and nostalgic pier.
